The 2025 Luncheon for Literacy will take place Thursday, April 3, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Technical College, Easley Campus. Hosted by WYFF News 4's Jane Robelot and featuring keynote speaker Dr. Alisha Green, Director of the Office of Instructional Supports for the SC Department of Education, this annual event will raise support for Preschool Pages, Women United's signature early literacy program.

MEET YOUR KEYNOTE

Dr. Alisha Green is the Director of the Office of Instructional Supports at the South Carolina Department of Education. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master's degree in Literacy, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. With 30 years of experience in public education, Dr. Green has taught at the early childhood, elementary, and collegiate levels. Prior to joining the Department of Education, she served as the K-12 Director of Literacy for the Chester County School District, where she led efforts to enhance literacy instruction and intervention for all students.

As a national speaker, Dr. Green has presented at prominent conferences, including the National Title 1 Conference in Portland, Oregon, and the National NWEA Conference in Denver, Colorado. Her presentations address key topics such as the use of student intervention pathways to strengthen core instruction and the implementation of data-driven coaching cycles to improve instructional effectiveness. Dr. Green has also held leadership roles, including serving as President of the South Carolina Leaders of Literacy state advocacy group and as a member of the Board of Directors for The Reading League-South Carolina.

Dr. Green has been married for 27 years and is the proud mother of two adult children, Josh and Patrick. Additionally, she shares her home with her German Shepherd, Ziva Louise, whom she affectionately refers to as her soul dog.

Jane Robelot

MEET YOUR HOSTESS

Jane Robelot, nationally acclaimed network news anchor and correspondent, joined WYFF News 4 in January 2007. After beginning her career in radio in 1982, Jane moved into television with WSPA before being spotted by CBS News Network. In 1990 she moved on to WCAU-TV in Philadelphia to anchor and report for the CBS News-owned station. In 1995 she was tapped by the network to move to CBS News in New York City, where she worked as a national anchor beginning on “CBS Morning News” and was quickly promoted to co-host “CBS This Morning”.

While at CBS News, Jane covered some of the most important events of that time, including The Oklahoma City Bombing, The Death of Princess Diana, Pope John Paul II’s historic visit to Cuba and the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.

Jane has received many awards and recognitions for her exemplary work in broadcasting, including two National Emmy Awards and the prestigious Peabody Award. In 2024, Jane was honored with the prestigious “Master’s Award” by the S.C. Broadcaster’s Association and inducted into the 2024 South Carolina Entertainment and Music Hall of Fame.

Jane graduated Clemson University with a B.A. in Economics and is an avid Tiger fan. She is a very active alumnus, having served on the President’s Advisory Board, and a founding member of Board for the Center for the Visual Arts. Jane is married to Mario De Carvalho, a former combat cameraman with CBS News...they have one son, George.
